Cold In July
After a bad run at a casino leaves him $44,000 in debt to a mobster, a professor with a gambling addiction tries to win the money back. An underrated and almost-forgotten gem from the golden age of cinema, the 1970’s. My Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars.

Underrated Movie #317 ~ Cold In July

Cold In July
When a man kills a home invader in self-defense, the burglar’s father begins threatening the victim’s young son. But soon, both men will become embroiled in a mystery that eclipses the conflict already in play. (Netflix) This retro-thriller set in 1980’s Texas, complete with mullets, stars Michael C. Hall, Sam Shepard, and Don Johnson, who is particularly great here with an interesting role. I never liked Don Johnson all that much, but now I do. My Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars.
